In Public Places: India

India's marketing tagline is "Incredible India". That is an understatement. India is a life experience, one that I believe falls into the idiomatic phrase, "you either love it or hate it." It is difficult emotionally, physically, intellectually. But oh, it touches and captivates one's soul. These images are the first selection of "straight" photographs from the remarkable year I lived in Mumbai. (A series called "Lakshadweep" appears in Gallery 1.) They belong to the ongoing collection "In Public Places", and are most apt; in all my travels I have never experienced another country where so much of life happens in public, witnessed by any and all, 24/7, every day of the year.
